About

In diversity there is beauty and there is strength.

Over 20 years of solid professional experience with diversity issues

My engagement with diversity and inequality began over 35 years ago, driven initially by biographical activism as the daughter of working-class migrants from southern Europe. During my student years, I worked as a teacher advocating for children with migration backgrounds. Simultaneously, my academic interest in inequality issues deepened. This journey led me to dedicated years as project manager in the Gender Equality Department of the city administration, culminating in my independent work as a diversity expert.

Since 2014, I've operated my own office, serving as an expert, consultant, lecturer and facilitator on societal issues related to education and diversity in Switzerland and abroad. As a specialist, educator, communicator, and networker, I bring extensive experience across various contexts: administrations and institutions, associations and NGOs, federations, and businesses. Bridging the gap between theory, practice, and society is a key focus for me. I work with a knowledge-based approach finely tuned to the practical needs. Being multilingual and pluricultural, I draw upon a vast local, national, and international network.

Profound expertise in scientific communication transfer

Translating scientific insights into practical applications is a core competency of mine. My approach is firmly grounded in science, yet finely tailored to meet practical needs. The seamless transfer between theory, practice, politics, media and civil society is at the heart of my work as a speaker and facilitator. I collaborate with universities and researchers at international level to achieve this.

I engage as an expert on panels, contribute relevant articles, and provide media interviews to contextualize current and future societal challenges, particularly in the areas of migration, education, and diversity. My commitment lies in fostering a meaningful dialogue that bridges academic insights with real-world applications.

Bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds to collaboratively develop impactful results

Drawing on my extensive experience, I recognize that societal changes thrive through networking and dedicated efforts in sharing ideas. As diversity issues increasingly permeate all organizational levels, my consulting work spans a broad spectrum. Having held various positions in diverse organizational forms during the early stages of my career and accrued a decade of experience as an independent consultant, I possess an intimate understanding of diverse contexts. This experience has allowed me to establish a comprehensive local, national, and international network, as evidenced by my longstanding voluntary involvement in various organizations. I have served as a member of the Federal Commission on Migration – FCM and as a founding member of the Institute New Switzerland – INES, among others.

My expertise lies in designing formats that facilitate different or even controversial stakeholders to engage in constructive conversations, learning from each other, and collectively achieving results.

Initiating innovation and supporting change

I specialize in designing and facilitating institutional transformation processes that emphasize diversity in a participatory and sustainable way. My consultancy services cater to organizations aspiring to enhance diversity or shape their existing diversity.

My creative energy is channeled into projects that address questions of diversity and participation in a transformative way, contributing to the democratization of Switzerland. Notably, during my work in gender equality, I initiated Café Secondas Basel, a participatory project involving Secondas. I take particular pride in being one of the founding members of the Institute Neue Schweiz – INES , a think-and-act tank fostering collaboration across diverse alliances to develop sociopolitical visions for a shared, democratic future.

One exemplary initiative is the project "Atelier Neue Schweiz", launched in collaboration with INES in 2019. It stands out as a participatory institutional opening process with Kaserne and Literaturhaus Basel, where I played a key role in designing its framework.
